Investing in Lego. Is Lego more valuable than Gold?

Lego sets, especially rare and retired ones, have proven to be more valuable as investments than gold. Studies, including one by Russia's Higher School of Economics, found that the market for secondhand Lego sets grows at about 11% annually, outperforming gold, stocks, bonds, stamps, and wine over several decades
1457. Some Lego sets have even seen returns as high as 700% after retirement, driven by scarcity and collector demand37. Unlike gold, Lego's value is influenced by limited editions and the secondary market, although it requires finding buyers and proper storage2. Overall, investing in Lego can yield higher returns than gold, making it a lucrative alternative collectible asset145.
